-          UKIP candidate calls for intimidation to stop

UKIP’s candidate for Stockton North, Mandy Boylett, has pleaded with Labour MP, Alex Cunningham, to stop the onslaught of intimidation coming from his office, following the MP’s decision to publish her personal details on his website.

The Labour MP has released a private letter he sent to Mrs Boylett which contained her personal details, whilst asking her to “condemn or condone” the partnership UKIP has with the Polish Congress of the New Right Party in the European Parliament.

UKIP issued a statement just days previously stating his claim was “totally untrue”, with the party publicly condemning the accusation on previous occasions following an attempted smear by political opponents.

Officially, the Polish party does not have a European grouping, with the majority of the party’s MEPs sitting with European politicians who also maintain a ‘non-attached’ status.

Last week, the mother of two whose own father was a German refugee fleeing the Holocaust during World War II, said she was shocked and deeply disturbed by the actions of the MP.

Mrs Boylett, said “Following Mr Cunningham’s actions last week I made it clear I felt both intimidated and offended. He has now decided that the most appropriate course of action would be to release my personal details onto his website.

“The last few days have not only highlighted Mr Cunningham’s poor understanding of European politics, but also shown the depths Labour are willing to sink to in the run up to next year’s General Election.

“This week, of all weeks, he should be mindful about inciting anti-Semitism for cheap political gain”.
